For cloud deployments, you can manage Kyvos cluster scaling and query engine capacity based on schedule-based scaling or load-based scaling from Kyvos Web Portal. Cluster scaling management improves the utilization of your cloud cluster and saves computing costs.
You can adjust the capacity to accommodate peak demand times. You can set a query engine capacity for each event you add to the Kyvos system. Over time, as you monitor usage, you will learn when to increase the capacity and when to reduce it or take the service offline. 

Note

• When you deploy a Kyvos cluster, the Schedule and the Load options are displayed on the Cluster Scaling page. The Load option will be selected by default.

• You can create a schedule to change the cluster state at any point in time by setting the Query Engine capacity by using the Change Cluster State link, which is available on the 'Cluster Scaling' page for both schedule-based and load-based scaling. 

To view the Cluster Scheduling page, from the Toolbox, click Setup > Cluster Scaling. The Cluster Scaling page is displayed.

On the Cluster Scaling page, do one of the following:

• Select the Schedule option to specify schedule-based scheduling. 
  See Creating schedule-based scaling for more details. 

• Select the Load option to specify load-based scaling. By default, the Load option is selected.
  See Configuring load-based scaling for more details. 

Subscribe to notifications

Click the Actions menu (...) located in the upper right corner of a cluster scaling page, and then click  Subscribe Cluster Events to subscribe to receive notifications for cluster events. These events include the cluster shutting down as per schedule, the cluster state scaling down due to Cluster scheduling, all query engines being up and in a running state, the cluster state scaling down, entity modifications, or a license expiring soon.

You can set up notifications and subscriptions as needed.

Tip

If you subscribe to the  Notify if the cluster shuts down as per schedule, you will receive an email with details on how to restart the cluster if you need to manually.

View cluster audit logs

Click the Actions menu (...) located  in the upper right corner of a cluster scaling page, and then click  View Audit Logs to view audit logs for cluster scaling events. This opens the Monitor page and displays all the events that have occurred on your cluster along with the details. You can view details about default and user-created schedules and download logs of any cluster scaling event.
