Key insights for worksheet and dashboard

Key Insights in Visualizations

You can add key insights to worksheets and dashboards that summarize important patterns, trends, or anomalies in your data. This feature complements visualizations by highlighting relevant information, enabling you to quickly understand complex datasets and make informed, data-driven decisions without extensive manual analysis.

Note

  • To add key insights to worksheets and the dashboard, set the value of the "keyInsights": {“isEnable”: true} property to true in the portal.properties file. This property controls the visibility of the worksheet's Content Type (Key Insights, Visualization, or Both) and the Add Summary Card option on dashboards. Note that Key Insights will not be generated for saved worksheets or dashboards that did not originally include Key Insights.

  • Key insights are not applicable to the crosstab view type.

To add key insights to a worksheet, perform the following steps.

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then select a workbook and a Dashboard.

  2. In the Properties pane, select Workbook from the list. Navigate to the Content section and select one of the following options:

    • Key Insights: Displays only textual key insights by highlighting relevant information.

    • Visualization: Displays visualization in the worksheet based on the selected view type.

    • Both: Displays key insights and visualization in the worksheet.

You can rephrase and generate concise key insights as needed.

To add key insights to a dashboard, include a summary card. After adding the summary card, you can view the key insights and visualizations on the dashboard.
