Configure Compute Master
After creating compute master, you can choose to process the semantic model on a Compute Master (Independent Cluster), rather than on the BI Server. By default, semantic model processing runs on the BI Server within the same process. However, you have the option to run it as a separate process on a Compute Master (Independent Cluster), independent of the BI Server.
Note
This feature is applicable only to Kubernetes-based compute servers with a configured proxy.
The Compute Master must be in the same resource group as Kyvos.
To configure Compute Master, perform the following steps.
Click the cluster name > Kyvos and Ecosystem > Compute Cluster on the navigation pane to view this information.
The Compute Cluster page displays the two tabs.On the Kyvos Native tab, click Kyvos Compute Cluster Sub Type as Kubernetes.
In the Proxy Server Configurations section, select the Use Proxy Server to connect with Kubernetes cluster checkbox.
Click the Configure Compute Master link. The Configure Model Processing Orchestration dialog is displayed.
Select any one of the following options to specify whether semantic model processing orchestration to be performed by a dedicated Compute Master process or managed directly by the BI Server.
Compute Master: If you select this option, The Scale Set list is displayed. Select the required Scale Set from the list.
BI Server
Enter your Kyvos Manager password.
Click Save. The compute master is configured for processing semantic model.
Note
Once you configure the target node for processing, the value of the IS_COMPUTE_MASTER_ENABLED property is governed based the option you configure as BI Server or Compute Master.
