Reference Distributions

Reference distributions display statistical distributions across the visualization, showing percentiles, quartiles, or standard deviations. They provide statistical context for data spread and central tendency. Distributions help identify patterns, outliers, and data characteristics. They're valuable for quality control, performance analysis, and statistical communication.

To specify reference distributions, perform the following steps.

1. Using OrderDate from Kyvos, create a bar chart.

2. Drag OrderDate to rows.

3. Drag Sum Sales to the column.

4. Right-click on the Y-axis (Sales axis) and select Add Reference Line.

5. In the dialog, choose Distribution open value dropdown > put 25, 75 under percentage.

   Open

   

6. Click ok.
