Create partitions

You can create partitions with or without implementing a sliding window.

From Kyvos 2026.3 onwards, you can use any dimension irrespective of its type (time, location, or regular) in base partitions.

To create a partition, perform the following steps.

From the Toolbox area, select Semantic Models.
Select a semantic model and click the Partition Strategy tab.
For Base Partition On, select the required dimension. You must select the value whose value can act as a base for calculating the partition.
Optionally, click Add Sub Partitions to set up sub partitions. Once you create sub partitions, this option changes to Edit Sub Partitions.
Click the plus button to add an additional sub partition.
To enable sliding window (your base partition must be created on a Time dimension), click Enable sliding window and specify to keep data for a specific number of partitions.
Click Save.
