Designing Query using Semantic Model
If you are using Kyvos as a data source, you can create queries using semantic models created in Kyvos.
Note
To design query using semantic models, the Kyvos connection must be the default connection. You can follow the below steps to make the Kyvos connection as default.
On the Kyvos Reporting portal, click the menu bar from the top left of the page.
Click Settings.
In the Select Database dropdown, select the required Kyvos connection.
Select the Also save in preferences checkbox to save this connection as default in your preferences.
To design a query using a semantic model, perform the following steps.
On the SQL Report Wizard window, select the Semantic Model radio button.
In the Select Semantic Model dropdown, select the required model.
Click the Parameters button to add parameters.
Click Next or the Fields tab to specify the fields to be shown in the report.
Move the required dimensions or measures from the Available Fields column to the required Selected Fields shelf (Filters, Rows, Columns, and Values) on the right.
Click Select Members to choose the required member objects for the selected fields. Click Ok.
If you have moved any fields to the Filters shelf, click the Filter Criteria button to specify the criteria. Select the Fields, Criteria, and Value as needed. You can add more than 1 filter conditions. Click Ok.
Click the SQL Editor button from the bottom right of the window to view the automatically generated query. You can further edit the query.
Note
You will only view the folders and underlying semantic models you have access to in Kyvos viz.
You will only have access to semantic model data permitted for you in Kyvos Viz, based on the applied data security associated with the selected semantic model.
Note
If you update members or filter criteria after editing the SQL manually, the manual changes will be lost.
