Creating Charts in Power Viewer

Kyvos Reporting Ad hoc reports support a wide variety of chart types, such as bar, line, pie, radar, and more. In HTML Power Viewer, you can perform chart-related operations dynamically—without going back to the Ad hoc Report Designer.
Chart Operations on Report Canvas
You can add, hide, or redisplay charts by right-clicking on the report canvas.
Add a Chart
You can insert a chart into a report directly from the viewer—even if the report was not initially designed with a chart.
To add a chart:
Right-click anywhere on the report (except column headers).
Click Add Chart from the context menu.
Click Apply on the Actionboard.
Kyvos Reporting automatically assigns:
The first character-type field as the X-axis
The first numeric field as the Y-axis
Note
If a chart was already created and hidden, selecting Show Chart will redisplay the original chart.
Hide a Chart
To hide a chart:
Right-click on the chart area.
Select Show Chart and uncheck the chart you want to hide.
Click Apply on the Actionboard.
Reselecting the chart will make it visible again.
Chart Operations via Chart Toolbar
The Chart Toolbar appears briefly when the report loads and can be reopened by hovering over the chart title.
Linking a Chart to Report Fields or Matrix
If Link with Report Fields is enabled in the Chart tab of the Ad hoc Report Designer, the chart auto-plots based on the display fields.
If Link with Matrix is selected, the chart auto-plots based on the row, column, and cell fields of the matrix.
To unlink a chart:
Open the chart toolbar and click the Unlink icon.
Once unlinked, the chart fields can be edited manually.
To re-link a chart:
Click the Link icon again to bind the chart back to report fields or matrix.
Change Chart Type
To change the chart type:
Click the Change Chart Type icon on the chart toolbar.
Select a chart type from the toolbar or open sub-types using the dropdown.
The chart refreshes using the selected chart or sub-type.
Change Chart Data (Fields)
To modify X or Y axis fields:
Click the Change Data icon on the chart toolbar.
In the Change Data dialog:
Click the add (+) icon to add a field.
Click the remove (x) icon to delete a field.
Use the dropdown to replace an existing field.
Click Apply to update the chart.
Note
The Change Data icon is disabled when the chart is linked to report fields or matrix.
Changes made here also reflect on the Chart tab in the Ad hoc Report Designer.
Chart Display Settings
You can customize chart display options directly in the viewer:
Show Legends: Toggle visibility of legend
Legend Position: Choose position (e.g., Top, Bottom)
Show Point Labels: Show/hide data point values
Show Description: Show/hide the description defined in the report
Use the chart toolbar options to modify these settings without redesigning the report.
