Reference Lines

Reference lines add constant or computed lines to visualizations, marking targets, averages, or thresholds. They provide visual context for performance evaluation and goal tracking. Reference lines can be constant values, aggregations, or parameter-driven dynamic values. They support customization of label, color, and line style for clear communication.

To create reference lines, perform the following steps.

1. Using OrderDate from Kyvos, create a bar view.

2. Drag the Sub-Category to rows and Sum Sales and Sum Profit to Columns.

3. Right-click on the y-axis (Sales axis).

4. Select Add Reference Line.

   Open

   

5. In the Add Reference dialog box, do the following:

   1. Set Value to Average.

   2. Choose the Entire Table for the scope and set the label to Average.

   3. Customize line color and style.

      Open

      

6. Click Ok.

7. A line appears showing the average sales across all sub-categories.
