Support for Sort Field on Normal Hierarchy in No-Spark: With this release, Kyvos now supports sort fields in MDX queries and semantic model processing in no-Spark.
Support for Migrating Excel from SSAS to Kyvos: With this release, users can seamlessly migrate Excel workbooks from SSAS to Kyvos.
Features and Enhancements for 2025.12
The Kyvos 2025.12 release brings the following new features and enhancements.
Kyvos Dialogs Enhancements
This release includes the following enhancements to Kyvos Dialogs:
AI-Powered Metadata Generation: Kyvos now supports AI-powered metadata generation using Large Language Model (LLM) technology to automatically create meaningful business context and tags for semantic models and AI Spaces. Users can review, refine, and save the generated suggestions, reducing manual effort and improving metadata quality, consistency, and usability.
Kyvos AI Space: With this release, Kyvos introduces AI Space, a new entity engineered to facilitate unified, conversational analytics across diverse data sources. AI Space acts as an integrative container that consolidates multiple semantic models and configurations within a shared business context, thereby augmenting analytical versatility and promoting comprehensive insight discovery.
Conversational Analytics with AI Space: Kyvos now supports conversational analytics using either a single semantic model or multiple models using an AI Space. AI Space enables conversational analytics across multiple semantic models, allowing users to ask questions and gain insights from diverse datasets within a unified business context.
Conversational Analytics with any source: Kyvos now supports conversational analytics using any source. In this case, when users submit a query, the system automatically identifies and selects the most relevant semantic model and executes the query accordingly.
Configurable Display Options for Chat Visualizations and Key Insights: Kyvos now allows users to configure the display options and arrangement (up or down) of visualizations and key insights from chat settings. Visualizations and key insights can be expanded or collapsed as needed.
SQL Query Generation Log Trails: Kyvos now supports viewing log trails during SQL query generation. Users can select an ongoing log trail to view detailed activity messages in the Activities panel, displaying clear runtime actions performed during query generation.
Support for Key Insights instructions: Users can manage and control key insights by defining summary instructions on the AI Settings page. These instructions guide the generation of insights, ensuring they are relevant, consistent, and aligned with your business context.
VertexAI LLM Integration with Kyvos: This release supports VertexAI/Gemini 2.5 Pro and 3 Pro for natural language querying and summary generation.
Enhanced chat sessions: This release allows users to:
Load chat sessions by scrolling upward.
Show auto suggestions in prompts.
Kyvos Modern Architecture (No-Spark Ingestion) Enhancements
This release includes the following no-Spark enhancement:
Support for sliding window: This release adds support for a sliding window in Kyvos Compute.
Note: Sliding window is not supported with the week-in-time type hierarchy.
Support for ROLLUPCHILDREN MDX function: This release adds support for ROLLUPCHILDREN MDX function.
SCIM 2.0 Support for User and Group Provisioning
Kyvos now supports SCIM 2.0 (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) for automated user and group provisioning. This enables seamless integration with enterprise Identity Providers such as Okta. SCIM support eliminates manual user administration, reduces operational overhead, strengthens security through centralized identity management, and ensures compliance with enterprise IAM (Identity and Access Management) best practices.
Kyvos Migration Utility
This release introduces a new Migration Utility, available under Utilities > Migration Utility in Kyvos, which provides the following functions:
Migrating Tableau Workbook into Kyvos: Kyvos now provides a seamless mechanism to migrate data models and metadata from Tableau workbooks into Kyvos with minimal manual effort.
Switching Tableau Workbook to Kyvos Semantic Model: With this utility, users can now continue using their existing workbooks by connecting them to the Kyvos semantic model for improved performance.
Enhanced User Impersonation
Kyvos ensures that any impersonation request from BI tools that use an email address is correctly mapped to the corresponding Kyvos user associated with that email. This guarantees smooth query execution and proper user-level access control.
Enhanced Query Capture and Query Analyzer Statistics
Kyvos has improved query capture and the statistics displayed in the Query Analyzer to accurately reflect operations executed on the Kyvos Compute semantic model. Queries served from Smart Aggregates on the datastore are now correctly reflected, instead of being shown as partially matched aggregates.
Upgraded Apache Tomcat Version
Kyvos and Kyvos Manager have been upgraded to Apache Tomcat 10.1.50.
Cloud Support Enhancements
This release comes with the following enhancements for AWS, Azure, and GCP clouds.
Additional Secret Manager Configuration Support at the Connection Level for AWS and Azure: Kyvos now supports configuring an additional Secret Manager at the connection level by specifying the following property. Consequently, all connection passwords will be securely stored in the newly configured Secret Manager instead of the default configuration.
For AWS: kyvos.secrets.store.identifier
For Azure: kyvos.azure.keyvault.url
To mitigate increased BI Server startup latency caused by connection pooling, users can configure the ‘CONNECTION_LAZY_INIT_PROVIDERS’ property in the ‘global.properties’ file to specify a comma-separated list of providers.
Note: The additional Secret Manager configuration must match the default Secret Manager.
Auto-Population of Disaster Recovery Resources Information for AWS and GCP: With this release, information of disaster recovery resources created through automated processes is now pre-populated when:
Adding nodes
Configuring external repositories, if applicable
Native compute type information (Dedicated or Kubernetes)
Compute master if applicable.
Note: If auto-population of information fails for any created resource, users will be required to provide the mandatory inputs to continue with the steps.
Replica Resource Validation: Kyvos Manager now validates replica resource information configured on the Replication Information page. This validation ensures that the provided resources are valid réplicas of the currently active cluster data resources.
Automatic Cleanup of Temporary and Orphan Data for Azure and GCP: Kyvos now supports automatic cleanup of temporary and orphan data across the file system, database, and cache. This feature allows users to configure the TEMP_DATA_RETENTION_DURATION property to define the maximum retention period. Once the duration expires, related jobs are marked as expired, and the system automatically cleans up the data to maintain system efficiency.
AWS Enhancements
Configurable Replica Resource Failure Handling: Kyvos now provides a configurable option to control whether the primary stack deployment should fail or continue when replica resource creation fails. For further details, see AWS No-Spark documentation.
Azure Enhancements
Enhanced Configuration for No-Spark Architecture with Databricks SQL Warehouse: Previously, when building a semantic model using the no-Spark architecture with Databricks SQL Warehouse, users were required to configure two mandatory properties (kyvos.sqlwarehouse.catalog and kyvos.sqlwarehouse.tempdb) at the semantic model level. With this release, these properties can now be configured at the connection level, eliminating the need for each semantic model configuration and significantly simplifying setup and ongoing maintenance.
Usability Enhancements
Search for entities and folders across Kyvos: Kyvos offers a global search to locate entities and folders across the platform quickly.
Search entities such as Datasets, Relationships, Semantic Models, Workbooks, and Worksheets.
Search folders to navigate and locate entities.
Open searched entities in the same or a new window, per user preference.
Language Selection Support from the Kyvos Web Portal Header: Kyvos introduces the ability to switch application languages directly from the Kyvos Web Portal header, improving accessibility and usability.
Support for Listing Postgres Materialized Views: Kyvos now supports listing Postgres materialized views within the Kyvos Data Source, providing improved visibility and easier management of materialized views during data source configuration.
