Data Source Settings

Use Data Source Settings to control how reports are generated, displayed, and configured in Ad hoc Report Wizard and Smart View. These settings determine available user options such as output format selection, template usage, field selection behavior, and query handling, ensuring a consistent and optimized report design experience.
General Settings

Report Output Format Selection | Enables users to select the output format of the report at runtime. |
Show Option to Hide Report Details | Displays an option to hide detailed records. When enabled, only group headers and summaries are shown, and individual records are not displayed. |
Show Option to Set Template | Displays a dropdown list of available templates on Ad hoc Report Wizard or Smart View, allowing users to select a template for the report. |
Show Option to Set Report Title | Displays a Report Title text box on Ad hoc Report Wizard or Smart View. By default, the query name is used as the report title. When enabled, users can specify a custom title for the report. |
Default Template | Specifies the default template used when generating reports in Ad hoc Report Wizard or Smart View. |
Default Selected Output Format | Specifies the output format that is selected by default for the report. |
Settings While Editing Ad Hoc Reports
Field Selection and Query Behavior

Display-Fields Selection From | Specifies how fields are selected for the report. Options include: Dual List: Displays Available and Selected lists. Fields can be moved between the lists. Checkbox: Displays all fields with checkboxes. Select a checkbox to include a field in the report or clear it to remove the field. |
Fetch Query Object As | Determines when query object details are fetched: PREFETCH: Fetches field details when Ad hoc Report Wizard or Smart View is opened. LAZY: Fetches field details only when a query object is selected from the dropdown. |
Show Grouped Fields | Displays fields grouped based on the grouping defined in the query object. This applies only if the selected query object has grouped fields. Users can select all fields in a group by selecting the group name. |
UI and Interaction Settings

Display Custom Align Option | Enables alignment options for fields in Power Viewer. This option is available through the right-click menu on a field. |
Allowed Query Editor Operations | Controls access to the Query Editor: FULL: Displays a Query Editor link next to the data source dropdown. Users can open the Report Objects page in a new window and modify report objects. NONE: Hides the Query Editor link from the interface. |
Design and Rendering Behavior

Retain Design On Query Change | Preserves applied configurations such as filters, sorting, grouping, and totals when switching between query objects. This applies only to fields common between the previously selected and newly selected query objects. |
Show Render As Option | Enables rendering options for numeric fields, such as Data Bar. A Data Bar displays values as horizontal bars proportional to their magnitude. |
