Studio Reports Interface

Kyvos Reporting Studio is a report designer used for creating, editing, and managing reports in a visual layout. The application provides a familiar interface with menus, toolbars, and dockable panes to streamline report development.
Kyvos Reporting Studio Interface
The interface comprises the following key panes:
Explorer Pane
Displays all report sections and their controls in a hierarchical tree. Selecting a control here also selects it in the layout pane.To show or hide the Explorer Pane, go to View > Explorer.
Fields Pane
Lists available data fields (from database tables or XML), user-defined parameters, formulas, and system parameters. Fields can be dragged onto the layout pane to create report content. When a field is added, its label is automatically placed in the header section.To refresh the field list, click the Refresh Fields button or go to View > Refresh Fields.
To show or hide the Fields Pane, go to View > Fields.Properties Pane
Displays property names and values for the selected control or section. You can modify styling, layout, and behavior from this pane.To show or hide the Properties Pane, go to View > Properties.
Report Design Pane
Displays only the applicable properties for the selected control. Properties can be grouped or sorted alphabetically. A description of the selected property appears at the bottom.Layout Pane
Serves as the report canvas where controls and data fields are arranged. This pane defines the structure and presentation of the report.
Menus in Kyvos Reporting Studio
Kyvos Reporting Studio includes the following menus:
File Menu
New: Create a new report layout.
Open: Open an existing
.irlreport file.Close: Close the active report file.
Save / Save As: Save the report file or save with a different name or location.
Page Setup / Dashboard Page Setup: Define layout and print settings.
Print Preview: View a print-friendly version of the report.
Import: Import a Crystal Report into Kyvos Reporting format.
Recent Files: View a list of recently opened reports.
Exit: Close the application.
Edit Menu
Sub Report: Edit an existing sub-report.
Undo / Cut / Copy / Paste / Delete: Perform standard editing operations.
Delete Section: Delete a selected report section.
View Menu
Design / Preview: Toggle between design and preview modes.
Explorer / Fields / Properties: Show or hide corresponding panes.
Refresh Fields: Reload the fields list after changes to the data source.
Full Screen: Expand the layout editor to full screen.
Grid: Toggle grid visibility.
Toolbars: Show or hide toolbars (Standard, Format, Status Bar, Toolbox).
Insert Menu
Section: Add Report Header/Footer, Page Header/Footer, or Group Header/Footer.
Use Re-Arrange Groups to modify group order.
Controls and Objects: Add elements such as Label, Field, Check Box, Image, Rich Text Box, etc.
Sub Report / Cross Tab / Chart: Insert respective components.
Caption / Summary Field / Date-Time / Page Numbers: Add data-bound or static elements to the report.
Format Menu
Align / Size / Spacing: Align and space multiple controls.
Paint Properties: Apply formatting to selected items.
Bring to Front / Send to Back: Arrange control z-order.
Styles / Conditional Formatting / Notifications / Hyperlink: Configure formatting and interactivity.
Lock Layout: Prevent repositioning of controls (toggle option).
Tools Menu
Connections: Set or change the database connection for the report.
Parameters / Parameters Form Layout: Define runtime parameters and input form layout.
SQL Designer: Open SQL Editor to configure data queries.
Scripting / Formula Fields / Conditions: Add scripts, custom formulas, and conditional logic.
Report Properties / Field Properties / Options: Access advanced configuration dialogs.
Server Menu
Upload Report: Upload the open report to the report server.
Download Report: Download a report file from the server.
Window Menu
Tile Horizontally / Vertically / Cascade: Arrange multiple open reports.
Close All: Close all open report files.
