Working with Studio Reports Parameters

Report parameters are input values provided by users before report execution. These parameters are typically used to filter data in the report. Kyvos Reporting Studio allows you to create, manage, and reuse report parameters either locally within the report or by referencing parameters from the repository.

Accessing Report Parameters

To open the Report Parameters window:

  1. On the Kyvos Reporting Studio screen, go to Tools > Parameters.

  2. The Parameters window appears.

Actions in the Report Parameters Window

You can perform the following actions on report parameters:

Add

Create a new parameter locally. The parameter is available only within the current report.

Modify

Edit the properties of a local parameter. Note: This option is not available for parameters imported by reference.

Delete

Remove the selected parameter from the report. - If it is a local parameter, the definition is deleted. - If it is a referenced parameter, only the reference is deleted (the original remains in the repository).

Import

Import parameters from the repository. You can choose to import:

  • By reference (Select Yes): The report uses the latest definition at runtime. -

  • As local copy (Select No): A copy is created at the time of import. Future changes in the repository do not affect the report.

Export

Export a local parameter to the repository as a reusable parameter object. This option is available only if you have administrator privileges or permission to create repository objects.

OK

Save all changes to the parameter list for the current report.

Cancel

Close the window without saving changes to the report.

Note
Changes made to the repository using Export are not reverted by Cancel.
