Configuring Axis Settings for Studio Reports Charts
Applies to: Kyvos Reporting
You can configure appearance and behavior for the X-axis, Y-axis, and Secondary Y-axis using the following tabs in the Axis section of the Chart Properties dialog.
Scale Tab
Use the Scale tab to configure the range and interval of axis values.
Options
Property | Description |

Auto Scale | Automatically determine the scale at run time. |
Visible | Show or hide the axis scale. Enabled only if Auto Scale is cleared. |
Max. Value | Set the maximum value on the axis. |
Min. Value | Set the minimum value on the axis. |
Minor Step | Defines minor tick intervals. Calculated as Scale Unit × this value. |
Major Step | Defines major tick intervals. Occur every n minor steps. |
Scale Unit | The base unit used to calculate Minor and Major Steps. |
Example
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: 500
Scale Unit: 2
Minor Step: 10 (Short ticks at 20, 40, 60, 80...)
Major Step: 5 (Long ticks at 100, 200, 300...)
Style Tab
Use the Style tab to define axis title, label, and font styling.
Title Settings
Property | Description |

Font | Set font properties for the title. |
Color | Choose the title text color. |
Note
To hide the Y-axis title, enter a single dot (
.) in the Text field.These settings apply only when using amChart as the chart provider.
Label Settings
These settings apply to axis labels (for example, Jan, Feb, etc.).

Angle | Rotate label text to a specific angle. |
Format | Apply formatting (only for non-text fields). |
Color | Choose label text color. |
Grid Tab
Use the Grid tab to configure major grid lines on the chart.

Style | Choose the grid line style. |
Width | Set the line thickness (in pixels). |
Color | Choose grid line color. |
Use Quick Chart
Use the Quick Chart feature to create a chart using existing fields from the detail section of a report.
Steps
In the layout designer, select one or more fields from the detail section. To select multiple fields, press and hold Shift, then click each field.
Click the Chart button from the toolbar.
Drag to place the chart in the layout.
Fields are auto-assigned based on data type:
Fields with text or date data types are mapped to the X-axis.
Fields with numeric data types are mapped to the Y-axis (value axis).
You can further customize the chart from the Chart Properties dialog.
