iPackager - Creating Repository Bundle

iPackager - Creating Repository Bundle

Applies to: Kyvos Reporting

iPackager is a utility in Kyvos Reporting that allows administrators to package repository objects, user configurations, and system settings from the Kyvos Reporting repository or local file system. The packaged data can be deployed in other Kyvos Reporting installations, making it an essential tool for both backup and multi-instance deployment scenarios.

Note

iPackager is intended for use by administrators only.

Key Use Cases

  • Backup and Restore: Create a CAB file containing repository objects, user preferences, and configuration settings to back up your Kyvos Reporting environment.

  • Multi-location Deployment: Prepare packages centrally and deploy them to distributed Kyvos Reporting installations, reducing manual configuration overhead.

  • Version Upgrade: While upgrading from an older version (e.g., 19.x) to a newer version (e.g., 25.x), use iPackager to transfer repository and configuration data by exporting from the old instance and importing to the new instance.

Who Should Use iPackager?

Users with the Super Administrator role can:

  • Package Kyvos Reporting repository and configuration data into a CAB file and a CONF file at a central location.

  • Distribute and deploy the package across other Kyvos Reporting installations.

  • Avoid repetitive configuration tasks during new installations or upgrades.
