Adding Objects to a Configuration File

Adding Objects to a Configuration File

Applies to: Kyvos Reporting

You can add entities to a configuration file in the iPackager utility to prepare them for packaging.

Steps to Add Entities:

  1. In the Entity Type pane, expand the following nodes:

    • Repository

    • Users

    • Configuration

  2. Click the relevant sub-items such as:

    • Reports

    • Query Objects

    • Parameter Objects

    • Analytical Objects

    • Dashboards

    • Dashboard Widgets

This will display their contents in the Select Entities pane.

  3. Optional: Enable the corresponding checkboxes to include associated configurations like:

    • Schedules for Query Objects

    • Parameter Value Groups for Parameter Objects

    • Build Options for Analytical Objects

These are fetched from the Report Server during CAB file creation.

  4. In the Select Entities pane, do one of the following:

    • Select the parent item (e.g., Category) to include all objects under it.

    • Individually select specific items.

  5. The Selection Summary pane displays the count of selected entities.

  6. Optional actions:

    • Click Select All Data From Report Server to include all repository objects.

    • Select Include Dependent Objects to automatically include all referenced objects associated with the selected entity type.

Example: Selecting a dashboard and enabling this option also packages the reports, query objects, and parameters associated with that dashboard.

  7. For each selected entity, you can choose to include all or selected sub-items. This includes:

    • Reports

    • Query Objects

    • Parameter Objects

    • Analytical Objects

    • Dashboards

    • Dashboard Widgets

    • Approval Processes

    • Report Schedules

    • User Roles and Access Rights

    • Connections

    • Printer Settings

    • Web Client Properties

    • Report Server Properties

    • License File

    • Templates

Note

If user or organization preferences are selected for packaging, any associated forced parameter preferences (used for data restrictions) are also included.

Viewing Selected Objects

Click View Selected Objects to see a list of all entities that will be packaged, including dependent objects (if Include Dependent Objects is enabled).

Conditional Deployment Actions

Intellicus supports conditional deployment to manage object conflicts during CAB deployment.

To enable this feature:

  • Check Prompt before deployment if entity exists while building the CAB file.

This setting enables action selection at the time of deployment if the object already exists in the target repository.

Deployment Actions Available:

  • If the object already exists in the target repository:

    • Replace: Replace the existing object with the one in the CAB.

    • Delete: Remove the existing object.

    • Skip: Do not make any changes.

  • If the object does not exist in the target repository:

    • Add: Create the object as per the CAB file.

    • Skip: Do not create the object.

During CAB deployment (Navigate > Repository > Deploy Repository Bundle), any object marked for prompt displays a Confirm before Deployment option. Select the appropriate deployment action before clicking Deploy.
