Sorting Report Data

Sorting helps organize report data in a defined sequence—either ascending or descending. You can define multiple levels of sorting to control the order of data presentation.
Note
If the report is already grouped, sorting is not required. Grouping automatically sorts the data based on the group key(s).
Multi-Level Sorting
You can define a primary sort field (Sort By) and additional sort fields (Then By) to achieve hierarchical sorting.
For example:
Sort by Country
Then by State
Then by City
The number of sort levels applied is displayed on the right side of the Sorting tab header.
Sorting Properties
Property | Description |

Sort By | Select the first field to apply sorting. |
Criteria | Choose sort order: Ascending or Descending. |
Then By | Add more fields to apply multi-level sorting. Each additional field refines the previous sorting order. |
Run-Time Sorting
You can modify the defined sort order at runtime using options available in the Power Viewer.
