Creating Charts in Studio Reports

Applies to: Kyvos Reporting

You can create a chart in your report using either the toolbar or the Insert menu.

To insert a chart

• Option 1: On the toolbar, click the Chart icon, then click and drag in the Layout Editor to define the chart area.

• Option 2: On the Insert menu, click Chart. The mouse pointer changes to a cross (+). Click and drag to mark the chart area.

A confirmation dialog box appears.

Open

Choose one of the following:

• Yes – to create a bound chart using the report's data source.

• No – to create an unbound chart with a separate data source.

A default chart appears in the marked area.

Customize the Chart

To configure or update the chart:

1. Right-click the chart.

2. Select Properties. The chart properties dialog box opens.

Chart Types

Bound Chart

In a bound chart, the chart uses the SQL query defined for the report as its data source. All chart configuration steps remain the same as for an unbound chart.

Unbound Chart

In an unbound chart, you must specify a separate data source for the chart. To configure it:

1. Right-click the chart and select Properties.

2. Use the available tabs to enter details for the chart.

3. The chart wizard includes:

   • A chart preview pane.

   • Descriptions of the selected control.

   • Multiple tabs for configuration, such as data fields, series, axes, formatting, and interactivity.
