Formatting Studio Reports Crosstabs
Applies to: Kyvos Reporting
Use the Format properties to customize the appearance and behavior of individual crosstab cells—including row headers, column headers, summary values, totals, and grand totals. Formatting options include colors, fonts, alignment, visibility, grouping, conditional formatting, hyperlinks, and more.
In Web Studio, these properties will be available in the Property pane on the right.
Note
The options available in this tab depend on the selected item type (such as summary field, column header, row total, or total).
Format Options by Field
When a field is selected from the selection window, applicable formatting options appear in the Format tab. Examples:
Summary fields display additional options such as Summary Function and Summary Level.
Grand totals do not display section selection options.
Row/Column totals have limited formatting capabilities.
Available Formatting Settings
Property | Description |

Title | Title to display for the selected Crosstab item. Used for column headers on summary values. |
Font | Font family, style (bold/italic), and size for text. |
Align | Alignment of the text—Left, Center, or Right. |
Back Color | Background color for the selected item. |
Fore Color | Text color (foreground). |
Width | Width of the selected column (in pixels). |
Height | Height of the selected row (in pixels). |
Hyperlink | Create a hyperlink to a report or URL from the selected cell. Refer to the Hyperlinking Reports documentation. |
Conditional Formatting | Apply conditional rules for formatting. Refer to the Conditional Features documentation. |
Visible | Toggle to include or hide the selected field in the layout (without removing it from the logic). |
Repeat on Each Page | Ensures row or column headers repeat on each printed/exported page. |
Display Field | Choose a display field different from the actual field used (e.g., show “Product Name” while using “Product Number”). |
Replace Zero With | Replace zero values with custom text such as “Null” or “No Value”. |
Format (Date) | Set date format (e.g., yyyy-mm-dd, MMM yyyy). Applies to date-type fields. |
Format (Num) | Set numeric format (e.g., 1,000.00). Applies to numeric fields. |
Date Group By | For date fields, group values by Date, Week, Month, or Year. |
Num Group By | For numeric fields, define custom numeric groupings. |
First (N) | Limit the number of records to the top N values (e.g., Top 20 sales). |

Additional Settings for Summary Fields
If a summary field is selected, the following options are also available:

Data Format | Format of summary values (numeric, currency, percent, etc.). |
Summary Function | Aggregation method—Sum, Count, Avg, Min, Max, etc. |
Summary Level | Controls how the summary is calculated: Detail: Based on raw data rows. Header-based: Based on the current row or column group. |
Caption | Custom label for the row, column, or summary header. |
Position | For row/column summaries: Before: Display summary at the start (top or left). After: Display at the end (bottom or right). |
Note
Crosstab cells may be hidden if there is no data available for a group range.
