Conversational Analytics using Excel or CSV file

Enabling conversational analytics using an Excel or CSV file from Kyvos Manager

You can also start conversational analytics using an Excel or CSV file. To upload a file, you need to set a property from Kyvos Manager. To do this, perform the following steps.

  1. Log in to Kyvos Manager.

  2. Navigate to Utilities > Manage Configuration Files.

  3. On the page, click to expand Kyvos > Web Portal > kyvos/jakarta/webapps/kyvos/client/config/

  4. Download the portal.properties file.

  5. In the file, search for allowDataUpload property and set the value to true. By default, the value is set to false.

  6. Upload the file again and you will be able to start conversational analytics with Kyvos Dialogs using Excel or CSV file.

  7. On the Kyvos Dialogs, you will view the plus icon () that allows you to upload the Excel or CSV file.

 Working with Excel or CSV File in Kyvos Dialogs

Important

Excel (.xlsx) and CSV (.csv) files are supported, with a maximum file size of 15 MB.

  1. Click the plus icon to upload the Excel sheet or CSV file from your machine. If you have already uploaded a file, click Select Existing file.

  2. Once the file (Excel sheet or CSV) is opened, do the following:

    • For Excel sheet: You can set the sheet and column settings.

      1. Click Sheet Settings, the Settings -Data pane is displayed.
        Note: The Data list is displayed only when an Excel file has multiple sheets.

        1. Set the range (start cell and end cell) that you want to use for processing semantic model and for conversation.

        2. Select the Contains header row checkbox if the data file contains column header.

    • For a CSV file: You can set the file and column settings.

      1. Click the File Settings, the Settings pane is displayed.

        1. Specify the Line Seperator, Field Seperator, Escape Character, Enclosed by, and Skip Top Lines. For more information about these fields, click the i icon.

        2. Select the Contains header row checkbox if the data file contains column header.

        3. Select the Ignore empty rows checkbox to remove the empty rows in the data file.

        4. Select the File name as column to add source file path as column.

  3. Select the Column Settings for Excel sheet or CSV file. The procedure to set the column settings are the same for both the file types.

    • Select the column that you want to modify.

      1. Modify the name of the column

      2. Specify the data type.

      3. Select the Hide column checkbox to exclude the column from the semantic model. Hidden columns will not be used in the conversation.

  4. Click Next to proceed. The system processes your data and creates a semantic model.

  5. On the Process File dialog, complete the following steps:

    1. Select sheet in case of Excel file. This field is not available if you process a CSV file.

      1. For Excel: The Data checkbox is selected by default. Select the required sheets that is available in Excel file.

    2. Select the existing AI Space or you can create a new space. If you want to create a new space, enter the name of the space.

    3. Enter the Business context that will help the Kyvos Dialogs to understand your data. You can include business context and sheet relationships. For example, This excel file contains data related to bank's customer churn information. This can help doing churn analysis.

  6. Click Process. The following message will appear.

  7. After the semantic model is created, you can specify metadata by clicking the Define Metadata option. The predefined questions related to the selected semantic models will be displayed.

  8. Clicking on these questions instantly generates the answers, further streamlining your analysis.

  9. Alternatively, to add a query manually, enter your query in the input box and click the Submit Query button ().

  10. To modify your input visualization according to your business requirement, use the additional options listed below on this page.

  11. To save your chat session click Save. The chat will be saved in the default folder created with the email ID you used to log in to Kyvos Dialogs app.

  12. To change the name of the chat session or create copy of the chat session, click the Save as option to save the chat. The Save dialog box is displayed.

  13. Click Add Workbook. To do this, click Add Folder. A new folder will be created.

  14. Add a unique name in the Workbook Name text box and click Add. The workbook will be added to the folder. After saving the workbook, the chat session will display in the Recent pane.
