Sorting in Power Viewer

Sorting in Power Viewer

Applies to: Kyvos Reporting

HTML Power Viewer supports multi-level sorting of report data, allowing up to three levels of sorting. This enables users to organize report output hierarchically.

For example, if the report is sorted by Column A, and then by Column B, the result will first group data by Column A and sort records within each group by Column B.

To Apply Sorting

Steps:

  1. Right-click the column header you want to sort by. A context menu appears.

  2. Point to the Sort option. A submenu appears.

  3. Select the required sorting option:

    • Ascending

    • Descending

    • Ascending (Primary) or Descending (Primary) (on pre-sorted fields)

  4. Click Apply on the Actionboard.

The report refreshes with data arranged in the selected sort order.

Sort Menu Behavior

The sort options available in the submenu depend on the column’s current sorting status:

  • If no sort is applied: Ascending and Descending options are shown.

  • If the field already has primary sorting: Descending replaces Ascending.

  • If the field is used in a secondary or tertiary sort level, the following may appear:

    • Ascending (Primary)

    • Descending (Primary)

Sorting Indicators

After sorting is applied:

  • A sort arrow icon appears on the column header.

  • The arrow indicates the sort order and the sort level (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

Clicking this icon allows you to:

  • Reverse the current sort order

  • Promote the field to primary sort
