Working with Studio Reports Templates

Applies to: Kyvos Reporting

To maintain visual consistency across reports within an organization, it is essential to standardize key elements such as:

  • Company logo or watermark

  • Font styles for column headers and detail rows

  • Page numbering format

  • Footer with company contact information

Kyvos Reporting provides the Report Templates feature to ensure uniform styling and to reduce report design time. A template defines the layout and formatting that can be reused across multiple reports.

Applying a Template

Report templates can only be applied through the SQL Report Wizard in the Desktop Studio.

When designing a report using the wizard, you can select a template on the Style tab using the Apply Template dropdown.

The dropdown lists all available templates installed with Kyvos Reporting Studio. You can choose any of these predefined templates to apply consistent formatting.

Important Considerations

  • If you reload the wizard and add new fields to the report, you must reapply the template to ensure consistent formatting across all sections.

  • If you apply a different template after reloading the wizard, static controls (e.g., labels, logos, footers) from the previous template will remain unchanged. However, dynamic controls (such as data fields) will inherit styles from the newly applied template.

  • To maintain consistency, it is recommended to reapply or manually adjust static elements when switching templates.

Creating and Modifying Templates

You can design your own custom report templates using Kyvos Reporting Studio. Once created, custom templates appear in the Apply Template dropdown within the wizard.

  • Custom templates are saved with the .irt (Kyvos Reporting Report Template) extension.

  • You can open .irt files in Kyvos Reporting Studio to modify the template layout, formatting, and static elements.

By using report templates, you ensure consistent branding and formatting across reports, while minimizing manual effort and reducing the chance of design inconsistencies.
