Pie chart properties provide you with a few additional ways to customize a pie chart.

To configure donut pie chart properties, follow these steps:

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then choose a workbook and worksheet.

  2. Select Design if needed.

  3. Set the View Type to Pie Chart.

  4. In the Properties pane, select Pie Chart. Options to specify legend and display settings will appear

    1. Show Total: The various options of the ‘Show Total’ property are as follows:

      • Auto:

        • If the inner radius is set to zero, both the measure name and total value are displayed at the bottom of the chart.

        • If the inner radius is greater than zero, the measure name remains at the bottom, while the total value appears in the center of the pie.

      • Inside: Both measure name and total value are displayed at the center of the pie.

      • Outside: Both measure name and total value are displayed at the bottom of the chart.

      • None: In this case the measure name and total value are not shown at all.
        NOTE: For backward compatibility, in existing worksheets, a previously selected checkbox is now be mapped to Auto, while an unchecked box is be mapped to None.

    2. Select a percentage from Change Inner Radius list to create a donut chart.

    3. Change Outer Radius: This property has following two options:

      • Automatic: The system automatically determines the outer radius of the pie chart based on the chart container size.

      • Manual: Allows you to set the outer radius between 50% and 100%. The selected value is applied regardless of container size.

    4. Show Label: This property has following two options

      • Automatic – The system automatically determines whether to show or hide labels and which content to display based on the chart's container size.

      • Manual: Allows you to select the desired label: Percentage, Name, or Value. You may select all, or none. If no label is selected, the pie chart will display without labels.

    5. Rotation Angle: It is used to rotate the pie chart between 0° to 360°.
