Release Notes - What's new in Kyvos 2025.9.x

Here’s a list of Kyvos versions for Kyvos 2025.9.x releases:

Features and Enhancements for 2025.9

The Kyvos 2025.9 release brings the following new features and enhancements.

Kyvos Dialogs Enhancements

This release includes the following enhancements to Kyvos Dialogs:

  • Email Notifications for User Feedback: Users will now receive email notifications when their feedback is promoted or deleted, keeping them informed of updates and responses in a timely manner.

  • Audit Logs for User Feedback: Audit logs are now available for feedback that has been preserved, promoted, or deleted, providing greater transparency and traceability.

Kyvos Modern Architecture (No-Spark Ingestion) Enhancements

This release includes the following no-Spark enhancement:

  • Data Profile Job Support: Users can now run Data Profile jobs on No-Spark deployments.

Dynamic Calculated Members Support

Users can now add dimensions that contain attributes not associated with any datasets and mark them as calculated dimensions. This enhancement allows users to:

  • Add, update, or remove calculated members on any attribute of a calculated dimension without requiring semantic model reprocessing.

  • Leverage attributes or levels of calculated dimensions in BI tools.

  • Apply filters on one or more attributes or members from these dimensions.

  • Work with calculated members that are not linked to any physical dataset.

  • Use them without requiring a separate query.

Manage Parameters in Job Scheduling

Users can now manage parameters (defined for datasets) when scheduling jobs (Full Data, Incremental Data, and Test Data) in semantic models. Users can now view and override parameters while scheduling jobs, providing greater flexibility and control. the system must display all defined parameters for the selected datasets.

Note:

  • Default values (defined in the dataset) are displayed to the user.

  • Users can override default parameter values during job scheduling.

  • At runtime, scheduled jobs use the parameter values defined during scheduling.

  • If a parameter is not overridden, the default dataset definition value will be applied.

  • Executed parameter values are displayed in the Job Summary.

OAuth 2.0 Connectivity Support on Tableau Desktop using Kyvos Connector

Users can now configure OAuth 2.0 authentication when connecting Tableau Desktop to Kyvos through the Kyvos Connector. This enhancement, available on both Windows and Mac, ensures secure connectivity, compliance with industry standards, and a seamless integration experience.

Enhancements in Tiered Monitoring Configurations and Debugging

  • Download Compute Server Logs: Users can download Compute Server system monitoring logs from Kyvos Manager in the Log Files section.

  • Initial System State Capture: At startup, the system captures an initial dump. During initialization, the monitoring script records a one-time snapshot of the system state before any monitoring iterations, including Tier 0. This baseline snapshot aids in troubleshooting and performance analysis.

Note: Tier-4 requires passwordless sudo access for the Kyvos user on each cluster node.

Export Semantic Model Metadata with OAuth Authentication

Users can now export semantic model metadata using OAuth authentication for Kyvos ODBC, ensuring secure and seamless access.

Consistent Base Semantic Model Field Names in BI Tools

With this release, the base semantic model field names (hierarchy level, attribute, and measures) in BI tools now match those defined in the semantic model design.

Note:

  • To enable this feature, set the PUBLISH_TRUE_SCHEMA property to Enable.

  • By default, this property is disabled.

  • This enhancement applies only to new deployments. If enabled, older SQL queries and BI dashboards may break due to differences in fields and behavior.

Upgraded Apache Tomcat Version

Kyvos and Kyvos Manager have been upgraded to Apache Tomcat 10.1.46.

Querying Enhancements

Support for Custom Format Strings (Millions/Billions Use Cases)

Users can now apply custom format strings to represent values in millions or billions without the “M” or “B” symbols. These formats are supported only on measure values and with dynamic formatting.

Examples:

  • #,##0,, - Rounds to millions (no decimal places).

  • #,##0.00,, - Rounds to millions (two decimal places).

  • #,##0.00,,;(#,##0.00),, - Rounds to millions, displays negatives in brackets (two decimal places)

Scaling:

  • One comma , = thousands (1,000)

  • Two commas ,, = millions (1,000,000)

  • Three commas ,,, = billions (1,000,000,000), and so on.

Cloud Support Enhancements

This release comes with the following enhancements for AWS, Azure, and GCP clouds.

  • Streamlined Load Balancer Configurations for Web Portal: Users are no longer required to provide Load Balancer details when creating or terminating nodes. Configuration is now managed exclusively from the Load Balancer Configuration page. This enhancement streamlines the process, ensuring more efficient configuration management.

AWS Enhancements

  • Support for Using External Repository Password from Secret in Wizard- Based Deployment: With this release, support has been added for the following:

    • Providing the external repository password using one of the following:

      • Select an option to read the repository password from Secrets Manager.

      • Enter the repository password manually, using the existing functionality.

    • Configuring the database username for the external repository.

  • Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for SQL and MDX Querying Enhancements: With this release, Kyvos has expanded GPU-based processing for semantic model queries, including:

    • For SQL and MDX functions: Join and Limit

    • For SQL functions: Coalesce

  • Upgrade External Postgres 16.9 Version: The external Postgres version is upgraded from 16.3 to 16.9 for new deployments and upgrades, as version 16.3 has reached end of life.
