Release Notes - What's new in Kyvos 2025.8.x

Here’s a list of Kyvos versions for Kyvos 2025.8.x releases:

Features and Enhancements for 2025.8.2

The Kyvos 2025.8.2 release brings the following new features and enhancements.

Conditional Column Masking on Attributes

Kyvos now supports conditional data masking for attributes on the No-Spark architecture, protecting sensitive data and restricting access to authorized users. Users can implement attribute masking even when the conditional column is not present in the view.

Performance Improvements in Security Rule Management

Kyvos now comes with optimized process for creating security rules and mapping them to users or groups, delivering significant performance gains. The system now handles high-volume security rule operations more efficiently, minimizing delays during bulk administration.

API Enhancements for Kyvos

This release comes with the following Kyvos REST APIs enhancements:

  • Get Subscriptions: This API retrieves list of subscriptions created in Kyvos using various filters. Users can apply one or more filters to refine results.

  • Subscribe: This API allows users to create subscriptions for Kyvos events using the provided parameters.

  • Unsubscribe: This API allows users to unsubscribe from Kyvos events based on the specified criteria.

Features and Enhancements for 2025.8

The Kyvos 2025.8 release brings the following new features and enhancements.

Manage User Feedback in Conversational Analytics through Kyvos Dialogs

Kyvos Dialogs now enables you to capture and manage user feedback directly within conversational analytics. Privileged users can manage feedback more effectively by approving, ignoring, or deleting submissions, either individually or in bulk. Approved feedback is applied globally. Non-privileged users can view their own feedback. These enhancements improve governance, continuously improve query accuracy, streamline feedback handling, and foster better collaboration among users.

Kyvos Excel-Add in Enhancement: Individually Remove Empty Rows or Columns

Users can now remove empty rows or columns individually by selecting the Remove Empty Rows or Columns option in Kyvos Excel-Add. This feature is supported for both No-Spark and Spark based semantic models.

Enhanced User Management

User management is now more secure when the USER_MANAGEMENT_MODE property is set to SAAS. With this setting, logged-in users can:

  • Manage only the users and groups within their group.

  • Grant access exclusively to group members.

  • Email worksheets only to members of their group.

  • Manage subscriptions solely for their group.

This enhancement improves security and governance by confining visibility and operations to the user’s own group.

Tableau OAuth with Kyvos connector

With Tableau version 2025.2.1, the Kyvos connector now supports OAuth authentication, ensuring a more secure and seamless login experience.

Tiered Monitoring Configurations and Debugging in Kyvos

Kyvos now offers tiered monitoring (Tier 0–4) for the Query Engine and BI Server Engine, ranging from basic monitoring to advanced debugging. All logs are consolidated into a single archive for easy download and troubleshooting. Users can download system monitoring logs directly from Kyvos Manager under Log Files.

Note: Tier-4 requires passwordless sudo access for the Kyvos user on each cluster node.

Dedicated Compute Server Management for Yarn-based Deployments

Users can now view node and log details for dedicated compute server with Yarn-based deployments directly from the Monitor page.

Upgraded Apache Tomcat Version

Kyvos has now upgraded the Apache Tomcat version for Kyvos and Kyvos Manager to 10.1.44.

Cloud Support Enhancements

This release comes with the following enhancements for AWS, Azure, and GCP clouds.

  • Load Balancer Configurations: Users can now switch seamlessly between load balancers from the Configure Load Balancer page in Kyvos Manager. This eliminates manual intervention and ensures higher availability when updating or replacing load balancers.

  • Zookeeper ACL Support: Kyvos now supports enabling ACL in Zookeeper, enhancing the security of managed Zookeeper deployments in all cloud environments and on-premises setups. This feature restricts access to Zookeeper to designated nodes only.

  • Automatic Rollback of Cloud Functions: With this release, when rolling back Kyvos in the cloud, associated cloud functions now automatically revert to the compatible version of Kyvos being restored. This eliminates the need for manual rollback and ensures stability and consistency.

  • Improved Memory Calculations in Auto Mode: Kyvos has optimized memory calculation logic in Auto mode for the BI Server, Query Engine (shared and non-shared), and dedicated compute environments (Kubernetes and other compute resources). These improvements enhance semantic model processing and deliver faster query performance.

  • Compute Server and Compute Master logs Management: Users can now download and monitor logs for running Compute Server and Compute Master directly from the Monitor page. Additionally, Compute Master archive logs can be downloaded from Kyvos Manager for easier troubleshooting and log management.

Azure Enhancements

  • Semantic Model Processing Orchestration with Compute Master: This release introduces semantic model processing orchestration through a Compute Master to enhance performance. Users can now opt for the Compute Master for processing semantic models in new automated and wizard-based deployments. For post-deployments, the Compute Master is configured on the Kyvos Native page in Kyvos Manager.
Note: This feature is only available when using Kubernetes with a Proxy Server.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 Support as a Default Image: Kyvos now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.10 for automated and wizard-based deployments on the Azure Platform.

  • Compute Support: Kyvos now supports Standard_Es_v5 size series for BI Server and Query Engine.

GCP Enhancements

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Support as a Default Image via Terraform Scripts: Kyvos now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 9.6 as the default Operating System image for automated and wizard-based deployments using Terraform scripts on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Note

GCP does not support Kubernetes-based deployment with RHEL 9 as the default image.

Kyvos Viz. Enhancements

This release comes with the following Kyvos Visualization enhancements:

  • Inline or Popover View for Dashboard Filters: Dashboard filters can now be displayed either inline (directly below the filter) or in a popover view. This flexibility reduces clicks, speeds up selection, and makes filtering more efficient for both single- and multi-select lists.

  • Key Insights Support for Worksheet and Dashboard: Kyvos now supports textual key insights in worksheets and dashboards. When enabled by setting "keyInsights": {"isEnable": true} in the portal.properties file, this feature generates clear summaries of significant trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights. It simplifies analysis, reduces manual effort, and supports faster, data-driven decision-making.

API Enhancements
