Support for OpenAI 4.1
Kyvos has added support for OpenAI GPT-4.1, enabling enhanced natural language processing capabilities within Kyvos Dialogs.
API Enhancements
This release introduces the following new API and enhancements to existing APIs:
New API
Search Entities REST API: To search entities based on attributes such as name, description, type, and vizType.
Enhanced APIs
Copy Worksheet REST API (
/worksheets/copy): This release adds support for copying associated calculated measures and parameters when copying a worksheet. This functionality is now available through the REST API and the Kyvos Web Portal.Move Worksheet REST API (
/worksheets/move): This release adds support for moving associated calculated measures and parameters when moving a worksheet. This functionality is now available through the REST API and the Kyvos Web Portal.
Behavior Changes
Row Level Security (RLS) rules using the OR operator won’t be supported in Spark and No Spark
Row Level Security (RLS) rules on dimensions that contain multiple hierarchies won’t be supported in Spark
Following are the unsupported operators in Spark.
STARTS WITH, STARTS WITH (MATCH CASE), CONTAINS, CONTAINS (MATCH CASE), ENDS WITH, ENDS WITH (MATCH CASE), IS BLANK, IS NOT BLANK
Features and Enhancements for 2025.5
The Kyvos 2025.5 release brings the following new features and enhancements.
Kyvos Modern Architecture (No-Spark Ingestion) Enhancements
This release includes the following no-Spark enhancements:
Hybrid Multidimensional Model Support on BigQuery (Phase 1): Kyvos now allows you to use BigQuery as a data source for Hybrid Multidimensional Model semantic models. You can mark certain attributes as non-materialized, so they won't be processed in the semantic model, making your models more efficient.
NOTE: This capability is certified for use with both Excel and Kyvos Visualization.Simplified creation of tabular semantic models through Quick Data Modeling: With this release, the creation of tabular semantic models has been further simplified using Quick Data Modeling. Users can now create any number of tabular semantic models through a streamlined process.
Kyvos Dialogs Enhancements
This release comes with the following Kyvos Dialogs enhancements:
Mobile Compatibility for Kyvos Dialogs: Kyvos Dialogs is now optimized for mobile devices, offering a smooth and responsive experience on smartphones and other such devices. This update makes it easier to access and interact with Kyvos on the go.
Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) Client-Server Architecture: Kyvos now supports the MCP client-server architecture, enabling secure and scalable enterprise data access for LLM (Large Language Model) services. This allows the development of intelligent, context-aware AI agents that can easily retrieve data and tools. With this new MCP framework, new features can be added on the server side without requiring changes to the application code.
Exporting Semantic Model Metadata with Kerberos
Kyvos now supports exporting Tableau semantic model metadata (.tds file) with Kerberos authentication, enhancing security and compatibility.
Performance Optimization
As part of the ongoing enhancements in the 2025.5 release, Kyvos has significantly improved the performance of Cohort queries by introducing an intelligent caching layer. This enhancement reduces query latency and memory requirements for frequently accessed cohort data.
Cloud Support Enhancements
This release comes with the following enhancements for AWS, Azure, and GCP clouds.
Web Portal Nodes Preferred for Zookeeper Deployment: Kyvos Manager now gives preference to Web Portal nodes instead of BI Server nodes when deploying the Zookeeper service, helping optimize resource usage and system performance.
High Availability (HA) for Kyvos Manager in Automated Deployments:
In automated deployments with multiple Web Portal nodes, High Availability (HA) for Kyvos Manager is now enabled by default—no manual setup needed after cluster deployment.
Important
For the Kyvos 2025.5 release, version-based upgrades are not supported for Spark-based Kyvos deployments on AWS and GCP cloud environments. However, users can perform upgrades using either the path-based or file-based methods.
AWS Enhancements
Support of Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for SQL Querying interface: With the no-Spark Ingestion, Kyvos now supports GPU-based processing for semantic model queries, offering enhanced query performance by leveraging GPU acceleration.
NOTE: This is currently supported only on the SQL querying interface. For detailed information on enabling this feature, see the GPU-Accelerated Querying in Kyvos.
Azure Enhancements
Support for Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse Tables as a Data Source: Kyvos now supports reading data from Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse tables and storing aggregates on Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
NOTE: This integration requires a service principal to connect to the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse environment.
GCP Enhancements
Custom Image Support in Automated Deployments: Kyvos now supports using custom images with RHEL 9 and Ubuntu 22 for automated deployments.
Support of Multi-Availability Zone: With this release, Kyvos wizard-based deployments now support running the BI Server, Query Engine, and dedicated compute clusters across multiple Availability Zones.
Kyvos Viz. Enhancements
This release comes with the following Kyvos Visualization enhancements:
Drill Path Breadcrumbs in Charts: Kyvos now supports drill path breadcrumbs in charts (excluding Crosstab and Table controls). This feature displays a breadcrumb trail of drilled members, helping users understand the context of the current data view. Breadcrumbs appear in chart visuals and data card widgets, and are retained when exporting sheets or dashboards as PDFs or images to preserve analytical context.
