Bullet Graphs

Bullet graphs display performance against targets in a compact, information-dense format. They show actual value, target, and qualitative ranges (poor, satisfactory, good) in minimal space. Bullet graphs are dashboard-friendly alternatives to gauge charts and speedometers. They enable quick performance assessment and status communication.

To specify bullet graphs, perform the following steps.

1. With OrderDate from Kyvos, create a calculated field "Sales Target. The formula is SUM([Sales]) * 1.2 (20% above actual).

2. Drag "Sub-Category" to Rows.

3. Drag "Sum Sales" and "Sales Target" to Columns.

4. From Show Me, select Bullet Graphs.

5. Right-click axis > Add Reference Line.

   Open

   

6. Set the value to the "Sales Target" with Average.

   Open

   

7. Set line, style, and color.
