Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions - EXCLUDE

EXCLUDE LOD expressions remove dimensions from the aggregation, calculating at a coarser grain than the view level. They compute values while ignoring specified dimensions in the view. EXCLUDE expressions are useful for subtracting dimensional detail to create comparative metrics. They help calculate ratios and percentages against broader aggregations.

To specify Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions - EXCLUDE, perform the following steps.

1. With the Kyvos OrderDate connection active, create a calculated field.

2. Name it Sales Excluding Sub-Category.

   Open

   

3. Click Ok.

4. Create another field: Percent of Category Sales.

   Open

   

5. Drag Category to Rows.

6. Drag Sub-Category to Rows (to the right of Category).

7. Format as a Percentage to see each sub-category's contribution.

   Open

   

8. Drag Percent of Category Sales to Text.
