Reference Bands

Reference Bands

Reference bands highlight ranges or zones in visualizations, showing acceptable ranges, confidence intervals, or performance zones. They shade areas between two values or around aggregations. Bands are useful for identifying outliers, showing variance, or creating heat zones. They can be symmetric or asymmetric around a central value.

To create reference bands, perform the following steps.

  1. With Kyvos OrderDate data, create a line chart.

  2. Drag OrderDate to rows.

  3. Drag Sum Sales to the column.

  4. Right-click on the Y-axis (Sales axis) and select Add Reference Line.
