Workbook Optimizer

Tableau Workbook Optimizer is a built-in diagnostic tool that analyzes workbooks for performance bottlenecks, query efficiency issues, and design problems, with specialized considerations for Kyvos semantic model connections. When analyzing workbooks connected to Kyvos data sources, the optimizer evaluates how effectively the workbook leverages Kyvos' smart aggregates, intelligent caching, and query optimization capabilities.

To analyze workbooks for performance, perform the following steps.

1. Open the Tableau workbook.

2. From the menu, select Server > Run Optimizer.

3. Optimizer analyzes the entire workbook, and the Results panel shows findings by category.

4. Click each finding to see details and impact.

5. View recommended actions for each issue.

6. Select a finding and click "More Info" for context.

7. Implement recommendations to improve performance.

8. Re-run optimizer after changes to verify improvements.
