Creating Sets

Creating Sets

Sets are custom fields that define a subset of data based on specific conditions. They create a binary field that classifies data into "In" or "Out" categories. Sets can be static (manually selected members) or dynamic (based on conditions that automatically update). They are powerful for comparative analysis and highlighting specific segments.

To create a set, perform the following steps.

  1. Connect to the Kyvos semantic model with the Orderdate.

  2. Right-click on a dimension (e.g., "CustomerName") in the Data pane and select Create > Set.

  3. Name the set—for example, Top Customers by Sales.

  4. Choose either the General tab to select members or the Condition tab to set criteria manually.

  5. For Top condition-based, click Top > select By field > choose Top > choose 10 > choose Sum Sales > choose Sum.

  6. Click Ok.

  7. Drag Sum Sales to Rows and CustomerName to Columns to visualize.

  8. Drag the newly created set to the Filters pane.
