URL Actions

URL actions open web pages or web-based resources when users interact with marks in the visualization. They enable external content integration, linking to detailed reports, documentation, or related websites. URL actions can incorporate field values to create dynamic, context-specific links. They support both static URLs and parameterized URLs with embedded field references.

To create URL actions, perform the following steps.

1. With Kyvos OrderDate loaded, create a view.

2. Drag ProductName to Rows and Sum Sales and Sum Profit to Columns.

3. From the menu: Worksheet > Actions.

4. Click Add Action > URL.

   Open

   

5. Give Name: "Search Product Online"

6. Source: Current sheet.

   Open

   

7. URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=<Product Name>.

8. Click the Product Name field from the list to add the URL and select Run action: "Menu"

   Open

   

9. Click Ok.

10. Right-click any product mark and select “Search Product Online”Search Product Online to open the URL.
