Set Actions
Set actions dynamically modify set membership based on user interactions, enabling sophisticated filtering and comparisons. They allow users to build custom sets by clicking and creating ad-hoc analytical groups. Set actions can add to, remove from, or replace set values. They're powerful for creating dynamic cohort analysis and comparative visualizations.
To create set actions, perform the following steps.
Using OrderDate from Kyvos, create a set from "Product Name" (empty initially).
Name it Selected Products.
Create a view as Product Name to Rows, Sales to Columns.
Add Selected Products set to Color.
From the menu, select Worksheet > Actions > Add Action > Change Set Values.
Enter the name as Select Products.
Select Run action as Select.
Set Target as Selected Products.
Set Assign values to set. This will replace the set’s contents with whatever you click.
Click a product bar (or its label) in the view. The set action should run, and the color should update to show which products are in the Selected Products set.
Note
Similarly, you can create set actions for the tableau dashboards as well.
